The Otterbein University Graduate School’s annual Guest Lecture Series will feature a lecture by Kristy McCray, Ph.D., at 7 p.m. on Feb. 25. The lecture, “Let’s Get Humble,” will look at cultural humility and how to use these skills to create diverse, inclusive, and equitable workspaces. It is free and open to the public with registration at oiaac.com/gradlecture.

Dự đoán xổ số Khánh HòaMcCray is an associate professor in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences at Otterbein University. She teaches numerous courses on diversity and inclusion involving racial justice and cultural sensitivity.

“We are less in a place where we have to explain why diversity and inclusion is important,” McCray said. “Now we are taking action to create diverse workspaces. We need to call attention to unfair situations and respond in a way that is culturally sensitive and appropriate.”

Dự đoán xổ số Khánh HòaMcCray hopes the lecture will lead students and other participants to self-reflect on how they can use certain skills to create and maintain a diverse and inclusive workspace. To achieve this, the graduate lecture will give participants a brave space to work on eliminating their fear of ‘getting it wrong’ or saying something offensive.

“Students have to realize that they will mess up,” McCray said. “As long as they realize that they make mistakes and are willing to work at correcting their imperfections people will be understanding.”
